Dan Boothby
Dan Boothby enters his fifth season at DB Performance. Boothby, a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, is regarded as one of the premier coaches in the Strength and Conditioning field. Dan has implemented and designed programs for a wide variety of athletes, most notably Zara Northover (Jamaica) who competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and recently Dan added another athlete to the Olympic Scale, Brittany Loweree, whom is on the US Ski Team. Dan received his masters in Nutrition from Northeastern University, where he currently serves as Director of Strength and Conditioning. He primarily works with the Men and Women’s Ice Hockey teams. As Director, Dan oversees all sports as well as budget management and biomechanical assessments. Before coming to Northeastern, Boothby served under the Head Strength & Conditioning coach, Michael Ericksen at Central Connecticut State University as an undergraduate intern while playing on the CCSU’s football team. It was at CCSU where Dan spent time in the biomechanics lab; where he learned about corrective movement patterns and created a strong base of his own philosophies. It was in Boothby’s first role at Northeastern, where he was able to fine-tune and continue to develop his training methods. Boothby has had the opportunity to design and implement strength and conditioning programs for various Husky athletic teams, including year-round nutrition, weight and injury-prevention programs Dan, a Kennebunk, Maine native currently resides in Watertown, MA.

Thomas Boothby
Thomas Boothby enters his first full season at DB Performance where he serves as Vice President of Operations. Prior to DB Performance Thomas was a defensive coordinator for the Husson University Men’s Lacrosse team in Bangor, ME. Boothby was also responsible for designing nutrition and training programs for his student-athletes. Prior to coaching at Husson, he spent a year assistant coaching boys lacrosse at his former high school in Kennebunk. A Kennebunk, Maine native, Boothby was a standout player for KHS capturing All-American Honors his senior year as a defenseman. Boothby was captain of his Lacrosse team as well as his football team. He continued to play 3 seasons of Lacrosse at University of Southern Maine where he recently graduated. It was at USM where Boothby’s playing career ended, but not his love of the game. Thomas spent most of his career anchoring down the USM Husky defense; however he would take the occasional face-off. Thomas always gave much of his performance credit to his personal trainer and brother…Dan Boothby.

Rachel Llanes
Rachel Llanes founded Train Perform Repeat to provide athletes with the training, mentoring, education, and resources they need to reach their full athletic potential and goals in everyday life. Llanes has always had a passion for helping in the development young hockey players. She began training training them in 2006 as a part time job while she was also training herself in her strive to reach her hockey goals. As a student-athlete at Northeastern University, Llanes made sure to make time to work at camps and provide private lessons to aid in youth hockey development. She takes great pride in providing youth players with a female role model to look up to. Now, as a professional women’s ice hockey player and full time hockey training coach, Llanes is working with athletes and exemplifying the importance of individual skills training, strength & conditioning, and proper nutrition habits.Her passion to support player development and loyalty to growing the women’s game is what drives Llanes to achieve her ultimate goal: to facilitate conditions that allow clients to become the complete athlete. The resources she has attained allows her to train players to hone precision in their skill set early on and to educate them on the importance of taking care of their bodies through strength & conditioning training and proper nutrition. She feels as though the focus of building a strong foundation at a young age is a crucial element of athletic development that is often neglected by programs who attempt to produce instantaneous results. Hockey is where Llanes is most knowledgeable, but she does understand the developing and strengthening of all athletic skills and movements for a variety of sports. The attention to detail in each aspect of her holistic program allows her athletes to excel effectively in their game.

Allison Boothby
Allison Boothby just entered her second full year with Boothby Performance. She graduated from Northeastern University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Science in 2014. Allison spent two years working at Massachusetts General Hospital as a physical therapy co-op student. Here, she learned and observed unique rehabilitation considerations of recreational and professional athletes, which she still practices today. Recently, Allison worked for Northeastern University, where she practiced sports medicine with the D1 Varsity athletes. She evaluated and treated athletes for acute and chronic diagnoses for both in-season and pre/post season injuries. Allison worked closest with men/women’s rowing, men/women’s track and field, and men/women’s ice hockey. It was here that she began to develop plans for continued care, restrictions for strength and conditioning training and practices, and communicated adjustments and progress with the Sports Performance team and coaches. Allison is a passionate physical therapist whose goal is to provide athletes with both the knowledge and techniques to sustain an active life of health and wellness
